The Boss

OK time for me to write about Carmen.. heheheheheeeee.. where to start??? It was her idea to come up with this racing team, its roots started with the sim we both inhabit, Midnight Hour. I first met her many years ago (or seems like it) she was always the impish little sprite that got into all kinds of bother, but as i got to know Her she has been the truest of friends, she got into sailing, and the bug bit.. and bit deep.
We spend many an evening discussing sailing in second life, the boats the characters that this strange place throws up. Her enthusiasm is truly infectious. Her wicked sense of humour shines through.
The club started as an offshoot of the famous Midnight Jazz Club that we share land with, however not that many Sinatra fans go sailing. so she did what she does best and gathers friends, Pirates like minded people. Her abilities are endless from designing hulls to making my ride on ACA her talents know no bounds. She is the natural leader for this team of friends...
Thank you Carmen... its been a blast to know you.. and it's going to be one hell of a ride from this point in!!!

Meet the Sailors

Quirky Torok can be credited with everything you see here. He pushed me to run my first race when I was just puttering around the water seeing the sights, he gives me a place to run MSR from in world, and has even started a weekly race that fits into my schedule.

Quirky brings real life boating experience to the team with a deep knowledge of the rules and how things are supposed to work, he is an immense asset to the team. He is our source of news and happenings around the SL sailing community, and a solid sailor to boot.

Fair winds Quirky and see you on the line.

Meet the Sailors

Our next sailor I met on the race line and had a few sparing matching with. Impressed with his talent I asked him to join the team to add a little depth to a team mostly made of new sailors.

Neron Blanco is a talented sailor who sails almost everything and races almost everyday. Earning nearly 10 race wins in the 2 weeks he has been with the team, he was awarded Lead Sailor for June. Neron has even began to build boats, with a boat underway for the TYC boat building contest and another project that's too early to reveal details.

So best of luck Neron on the water with all your projects wether racing or building.

Meet the Sailors

I think its time for you to meet the sailors. So with that in mind the first sailor I will introduce you to is Reven Fhang. He is one of the 3 racers for MSR I drafted in from the pirate community.

He is fierce some in a pirate ship and appears to be learning the aca quite fast.

Good Luck and Fairwinds Reven

Sunday Big Boat Race

Sunday Gemma Vuckovic hosted Big Boat race from NYC. 15 boats turned up for this handicap event. Big news for MSR is we had 4 of our 6 racers show up for the first round as Neron, Reven, Quirky, and I lined up on a lag filled course.

None of the team scored a win but Neron showing that racing almost everyday has its advantages lead the team through the first two rounds. Neron placed Second in the first round and Fourth in the second round passing me floundering on the final leg.

In the third round shaking the dust off some I came in second coming behind the lengendary IcaBod Jonesford, and in the fourth and final round came in second behind Joro Aya proving she can sail more then just the fizz fast.

Reven took the line in the first round scoring Seventh in a very tough field of racers and gained some well earned experience in a crowded field in heavy lag.

Quirky I believe ran more then the first round but the results only go up to 9 racers, however Q wouldn't finish behind Colin unless he dropped out so theat may have been the case. He did however post a Sixth place in the first round.

My thanks to all the MSR racers who showed up for a very tough race, and heres hopeing in the near future to have all 6 racers in a single race.

Lead Sailor Award

In keeping pace with the growth of the team I have added a new monthly award, Lead Sailor.

Lead Sailor will be given to the sailor on the team who has shown the greatest skill in their races each month. So I'm pleased to announce Neron Blanco as the first winner to receive Lead Sailor tag after posting an amazing win streak in the last two weeks boosting him to the top of team overall wins and a close second in round wins.

Congratulations Neron

While I was Gone

While I've been away doing various things Neron and Quirky have been out on the water.
Neron has racked up 3 round wins with an overall race win and Quirky has added another round win to his total.
Sometime soon I hope to be back on the water but in the mean time MSR is well represented at the start lines.
